Bio
Haley Buard is in her second year as head volleyball coach at Hill College. Buard comes to the college from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) where she served as the graduate assistant volleyball coach.
The 2025–2026 team currently has a roster of 16 eligible players, 11 from Texas and five international. The season opened with a major victory over Navarro College (NC) of 3–2, the first time Hill College has beat NC since 2018.
In her first season as head coach, Buard managed a roster of 12 players with an overall record of 14–15 for the season and a conference record of 5–9.
During the 2024–2025 season, one player earned Offensive Player of the Year from the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Region 5 and First Team All-Conference Honors. Five players were awarded All-Academic awards from the North Texas Junior College Athletics Conference (NTJCAC) awards, and seven players went on to continue their athletic and academic careers at four-year institutions.
A native of Arlington, Texas, Buard played collegiate ball for four years while getting her bachelor’s degree at Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU). While at MSVU, she earned multiple academic and athletic honors. She is a four-year recipient of the Southwest Athletic Conference (SWAC) Academic Commissioner’s Honor Roll. She also received the All-Tournament Honors at the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic.
Buard’s goal as a coach is to help players grow academically and athletically while promoting leadership and community engagement.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in health, physical education, and recreation from MVSU and a Master of Science in physical education from UAPB.
