Many of Hill College’s long-distance runners are gearing up for the track portion of the school year which begins this weekend at the Robert Platt Invitational in Houston.
Sophomore Shea Johnson (Marble Falls) used a final-lap surge to set a new Hill College mile record time of 4:40.69 as he went on to place ninth in his heat at the Jarvis Scott Open Indoor Track and Field Meet Feb. 10-11 inside the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center in Lubbock.
Freshman runner Adrian Moreno was not only the first Hill College student to ever compete in an indoor track meet, but he also placed second in the first heat of the mile run with a personal-best time of 4:40.95 in Friday’s Houston Indoor Track Meet inside the Yeoman Field House on the campus of the University of Houston.
